"Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done."

If the reward you're after has already come, then you're missing the true reward of life.....Jesus.

I John 5:2 NIV

"This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands."

Loving God will make us love others. If we love Him, we will love like He loves and whom he loves. This is obedience to God.

¹⁸ For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

In other words...."Take the world, but give me Jesus."

Hebrews 7:23-25 NIV

²³ Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; ²⁴ but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. ²⁵ Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

None compares to Jesus.

"Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

It's hard to stay pure without the love & support of brothers & sisters in Christ. Don't try it alone.
